Please schedule your life saving appointment to donate blood. You have the power to directly impact patient care and blood inventory levels at area hospitals. Just by donating blood!
To schedule your lifesaving appointment, go to DonateBlood.CentralBloodBank.org:
- Choose “Donor Login” if you have donated with Vitalant or Central Blood Bank before
- If you have not donated with Vitalant or Central Blood Bank before, choose “New Donor”
- At the “Schedule your Appointment Today” screen, scroll down using the far right scroll bar and enter group code CU240011 to schedule your donation
- If you cannot schedule online, please call 412.209.7000 or call Rachel at 412-736-5506
Vitalant provides blood, platelets, and plasma to patients in area hospitals. There is no artificial substitute for human blood, so we work with generous people -- maybe you? -- who are willing to donate their blood to save lives. You can donate anywhere between three and 24 times each year, depending on your type of donation and whether you are eligible to donate. To keep the blood supply safe, and ensure donors are protected, we ask you to complete a questionnaire prior to each donation. With every blood donation, you save the lives of as many as three patients in area hospitals. Please consider saving lives by donating blood.
WVU Students who present to donate blood will have the opportunity to earn two (2) community service hours. If a student is not eligible to donate, they will be given the opportunity to volunteer at the donation site for the same number of hours.
