Who We Are
We provide blood, platelets, and plasma to patients in area hospitals. There is no artificial substitute for human blood, so we work with generous people -- maybe you? -- who are willing to donate their blood to save lives. You can donate anywhere between three and 24 times each year, depending on your type of donation and whether you are eligible to donate. To keep the blood supply safe, and ensure donors are protected, we ask you to complete a questionnaire prior to each donation. With every blood donation, you save the lives of as many as three patients in area hospitals. Please consider saving lives by donating blood.
WVU Students who present to donate blood will have the opportunity to earn two (2) community service hours. If a student is not eligible to donate, they will be given the opportunity to volunteer at the donation site for the same number of hours.
