We are seeking friendly and compassionate volunteers to make Welcome Calls to newly admitted hospice patients and their families. These brief, scripted phone calls are made a few days after admission to help ensure patients and caregivers feel supported, informed, and connected to their hospice team. During the call, volunteers will introduce themselves, confirm that the patient or family has the local hospice office contact information, and ask if there are any non-medical questions, concerns, or needs at that time. Volunteers serve as an additional layer of support, helping families feel welcomed and reassured as they begin their hospice journey. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy speaking with others, have good communication skills, and want to make a meaningful difference through compassionate outreach. Many families appreciate knowing someone is checking in on them and ensuring they have the information and resources they need. Calls are brief, typically lasting just a few minutes, and can often be completed during regular business hours with a flexible schedule. Training, call scripts, and ongoing support are provided by hospice staff.
