This an excellent volunteer opportunity for counseling, social work, and psychology students who would love the experience of working with children of different ages. All majors are considered. Volunteers will receive training, undergo a background check, and agree to attend peer-support group meetings twice a month on Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 (dinner provided). Our kids love college students. Volunteers make a difference in our kids' lives!
West Virginia Grief Center is a non-profit organization and provides grief support to children and families of all ages who have lost loved ones. This is a meaningful volunteer opportunity that will make a difference in the life of a child as well as your own. Volunteers will receive training and work in pairs with children on the 2nd and 4th Thursday evening of each month. Volunteers will need to to be available from 5:30 to 7:30 on the Thursday nights of service. Volunteers will need to be able to transport themselves to the 361 Scott Ave location which uses the Morgantown Church of Christ building on these evenings. Dinner is provided for volunteers as well as the families that evening as well. A background check will be done as well to provide for the safety of our children.
