Camp Caring is a free one day children bereavement camp for kids ages 6-14. This year camp will be held on August 5, 2023 at Camp Mountaineer, 187 Camp Mountaineer Rd. Morgantown, WV 26501. With these goals in mind we need many volunteers to make this camp possible:
- share grief experiences
- honor memories of lost loved ones
- gain coping skills to deal with their feelings
- learn that losing a loved one and death is a natural part of life
- develop a sense of hope that over time, things will get better
Volunteer opportunities at camp:
- Professional volunteers to lead coping activities
- adult buddies to be matched with campers
- support staff to help facilitate operations and activities
