WVU PAWS officers and up to 6 full-time club members with at least three (3) event points will visit Marion County Humane Society to prepare for our Art Gallery the following week. MCHS is located in Fairmont, WV. Carpooling can be coordinated as needed.
The tentative assembly for preparation is as follows: Person A will walk out a dog into the main area, meanwhile Person B will be returning the prior dog and retrieving the next dog. Person C will be ready with the camera and take a headshot of the dog. Person A will walk to the paint station, where Person D will assist in getting pet-safe paint on the paws of the dog. Person A will walk the dog across the tablecloth, leaving pawprints on the cloth. Person A will walk the dog to Person E, who will be leading the craft station. The dog will walk across a blank tote bag and press their paw into a wooden canvas to be drawn over later. Person A will guide the dog to the washing station, where she and Person F will wash off the dog's paws before Person A leads the dog back to their kennel. Person B will walk out with the next dog and repeat.
Volunteers must be comfortable handling dogs and cats.
If a volunteer meets the criteria for this event (registered on ENGAGE, paid $5 dues, and at least three club event points), they will be notified via email at wvupaws@gmail.com on how they can further prepare for this event.
One (1) event point will be gifted to every hour spent at the facility.
