We will be adding to the new Forest Restoration Trail at the Toms Run Preserve this Sunday, December 12th, from 10 am to 2pm. The work involves clearing brush using loppers and/ or a machete, and constructing new tread using shovels, Rouge hoes, and pulaskis. We will meet at the main Toms Run Preserve parking lot off Little Falls Road, approximately five miles south of Morgantown off the Goshen Road exit of I-79 South.
You will need to wear long pants (jeans are much better than yoga pants or sweat pants), a long sleeved shirt, and good boots. Bring leather gloves if you have them, but good gloves can be provided if necessary. Bring lunch, water, and whatever else you need for a few hours in the woods.
Information about the Toms Run Preserve is available HERE.
Directions to the parking lot:
On I-79 south, take the Goshen Road exit, turn right off the exit onto Goshen Road, left on Smithtown Road, and an immediate right on Little Falls Road. Take Little Falls Road 0.4 miles and look for the Toms Run Preserve sign on your right.
