WVU PAWS is attending a shelter visit at Marion County Humane Society (MCHS) on Saturday, November 13th from 10 AM-4 PM.
You may only sign up to attend one of these two visits. Masks are required inside the shelter at all times. I recommend bringing water and a snack. A carpool will be arranged for this off-campus opportunity. Please note in the comment section of your signup if you can lead a carpool OR if you need a ride and whether your pickup location is Downtown or Evansdale.
Registration for this event closes on Friday, November 12th.
Volunteer tasks will include:
- Cleaning kennels and cages
- Bathing dogs
- Washing bowls
- Sweeping and mopping
- Folding laundry
- Cleaning the dog yards
Event point totals are as follows:
- One (1) event point per hour of volunteer work
At the end of the workday, there is often an opportunity to play with the dogs outside. In saying that, this is a service event, not a social event. Come prepared to get your hands dirty and wear clothes you don't care about. WVU PAWS shirts are encouraged but not required.
All volunteers must be registered WVU PAWS members on WVUENGAGE, and have paid their dues for the Fall 2021 semester.
If you are unable to attend for any reason, please delete your signup ASAP to allow other members the chance to participate. If you unregister after 11:59 pm on Friday, October 22nd, you will be penalized one (1) event point.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out via iServe, via email at wvupaws@gmail.com, or via social media.
