The WVU Sustainability Office needs your help to promote the donation collection locations for the Blue & Gold Mine Sale. Need to get your steps in and want some fresh air? If so, this volunteer opportunity is perfect for you! Volunteers will be asked to walk outdoors through apartment complexes in the Morgantown area and place door hangers onto each apartment door unit that explains what the Blue & Gold Mine Sale is and how to donate gently used items to go toward the sale. Volunteers should dress in comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. This opportunity will follow all campus COVID-19 guidelines to ensure a safe and productive volunteer experience. Gloves and masks will be provided to each volunteer and must be worn at all times. Small groups will canvas apartment complexes and each person will work independently to hang the door hangers so that physical distance can be achieved easily. Due to the nature of this volunteer opportunity, students will be going to multiple apartments throughout the day. Individuals who would like to drive separately are more than welcome to do so. Team leaders will have access to vehicles and can transport volunteers if needed. Should volunteers need transportation, the following guidelines will be utilized:
- Each person in the vehicle should have their own hand sanitizer bottle clearly labeled with their name, and bottles should not be shared.
- No more than two people may occupy the row of a vehicle.
- Masks/cloth face coverings should be worn at all times.
- If possible, travel with windows open.
