We are starting up our letter writing for operation gratitude once again! We collected many letters over the holiday season for our troops and our first responders working so hard during this pandemic! We will be collecting letters virtually again and you can email your finished letters to activemindswvu@gmail.com.
Please be sure to read all the requirements and the entire description before submitting your letters!
The mission of Operation Gratitude is to forge strong bonds between Americans and their Military and First Responder heroes through volunteer service projects, acts of gratitude, and meaningful engagements in communities nationwide.
Every year, Operation Gratitude sends 300,000+ individually addressed Care Packages to Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen deployed overseas, to their children left behind, and to First Responders, New Recruits, Veterans, Wounded Heroes, and their Care Givers. Each package contains snacks, hygiene products, entertainment, and handmade items, as well as personal letters of support.
Our part is to write letters to be included in these care packages! This volunteer opportunity is going to be run virtually, so if you would like to write your letters by hand please scan them in and email them to activemindswvu@gmail.com. If you would rather write them on the computer and add a personal touch with designs you can then send them to the same email address.
Requirements
- Read the attached photos of the operation gratitude guidelines
- Letters cannot simply be one or 2 sentences accompanied by a picture
- We ask for letters to be a few paragraphs, 1/2 to 1 full page
