Virtual Narcan Training

Expired

Description

Students, staff and faculty are invited to participate in training to learn how to help counteract the effects of an opioid overdose while waiting for emergency medical assistance to arrive. Naloxone, also known as Narcan, can be administered through nasal passages to someone who is found unconscious from overdosing on heroin or other opioid drugs, including prescription medications such as codeine, fentanyl, morphine and oxycodone.

WELLWVU has 120 kits of intranasal Naloxone to distribute to any individual who participates in the 30 minute training session. During training, attendees will be taught what signs to look for in an opioid overdose, how to use the medication and other important information
