The WVU Core Arboretum is located on Monongahela Blvd next to the Coliseum. Volunteers help keep the Arboretum beautiful and safe, and you can be a part of the crew each Wednesday from 1-4 pm! Volunteers will work on trails, do invasive species removal, clean drainage channels, maintain lawn areas, etc. The program is open to all. It is hard work, but good exercise, and it is much appreciated by the Arboretum’s many users. There is a limit on the number of volunteers that we can accommodate each day, but the program will be ongoing. Interested volunteers should register here, and email Zach Fowler (zfowler@mail.wvu.edu) with any questions. Volunteers will meet near the Arboretum parking lot.
Volunteers should wear sturdy closed toe shoes, long pants, and clothes that are okay to get dirty. Work gloves will be provided.
Know before you GO! There are no restroom facilities at the arboretum.
COVID SAFETY PROTOCOLS

If you sign up for multiple days, you only need to complete the agreement once.
- Do not bring anyone with you to volunteer who is not preregistered on iServe.
- Complete the WVU Daily Wellness Survey and be prepared to show your Wellness Pass upon arrival.
- Tools, equipment, and other physical items will not be shared among volunteers.
- University guidelines regarding social distancing, appropriate mask usage, and hand sanitizing will be observed while volunteering at the Core Arboretum.
