Coopers Rock State Forest is working on building a new disc golf course through the interior of the forest, starting at the Day Use Parking Lot. Volunteers can help with brush-cutting, clearing debris and establishing trails. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to learn more about the Coopers Rock Foundation and participate in a hike with Adventure WV leaders.
Volunteers will need to transport themselves to and from Coopers Rock State Forest.
Volunteers will meet at the Day Use Parking Lot near the Coopers Rock entrance at 10am. They will be given a brief introduction about the project and instruction on how to use tools if needed. Each volunteer will be provided with work gloves, will not share equipment, and are asked to remain 6 feet apart from one another in order to comply with COVID-19 protocols. Participating in the hike after volunteering is optional.
All volunteers are asked to comply with Adventure WV COVID-19 protocols. Volunteers should arrive with and wear a face mask during the duration of the project, wear closed-toe shoes, and bring a small backpack with a water bottle, snack and raincoat.
