Hello! With the outbreak of COVID-19 and the subsequent shutdown, many of our local blood drives have had to cancel. The Red Cross still needs blood donations. We have moved many of our canceled blood drives to our Northeast WV Chapter Office on Pineview Drive in Morgantown.
BLOOD DRIVES ARE AN ESSENTIAL SERVICE.
To ensure safety we are taking the following measures at every blood drive:
- Any person entering the blood donation area, donating or now, MUST have their temperature taken. If your temperature is 99.5 or above, you will not be allowed in the blood drive.
- Blood Collection Staff and Volunteers will be wearing masks and gloves at all times. This is NOT a requirement for our donors.
- We are doing our best to keep everyone waiting at a safe distance from each other.
- Our staff are wiping all of our equipment down with commercial-grade sanitizing wipes after every use.
- If a blood drive is fully booked with appointments, we will NOT be accepting walk-ins. However, we encourage you to stop in and see.
Blood is needed now more than ever. The Red Cross has lost thousands of blood drives which has led to hundreds of thousands of units of blood going uncollected. If you are feeling well enough to donate blood, please make an appointment and please do a rapid pass the day of the drive to make your experience quicker.
You can make an appointment to donate by going to https://www.redcrossblood.org/ and typing in the zip code.
ALL WVU STUDENTS WILL NOW RECEIVE FOUR CREDIT HOURS FOR BLOOD DONATION.
