Description

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many of our elder neighbors are especially isolated, separated from their families in nursing homes. Use your love and creativity to uplift them! Make cards, drawings, or creative writings to share. Some will give to residents, others will create “Galleries of Caring” in their halls.  You may send your works of compassion to the elder care facilities below OR: connect with an elder care facility in your home community. Cards and messages of support to the staff working very long hours at this time are also welcome!

Service hours will be approved for actual time you spend creating and sending your work. Please include a brief description of what you did, # of items and where they went.

Important! Please wash your hands well before beginning and work on a sanitized surface. Please not lick the envelopes to seal. Use a clean sponge, brush or moistened cloth.

You may send items to:

To Connect with Elder Care Facilities in other Communities

  1. Important! Contact a representative at the facility and ask if they wish to receive mail, artwork, etc., and in what format (US Mail, electronic, etc) . While you’re at it, ask if they want to be added to our iServe list for other students to contribute. If so, email us at iserve@mail.wvu.edu with the address or email to submit the items.
  2. Submit the hours you spend preparing the items on iServe. Include a brief description of what you did and be sure to note the names and locations of the facilities you sent items to.
