The City of Morgantown Code Enforcement Department is developing a list of individuals and groups that can be contacted during and following snow events to assist with snow removal from sidewalks and driveways for residents that cannot remove the snow on their own (elderly, disabled, etc.). We would prefer to assist these individuals when possible rather than issue citations. But we can only achieve this with the help of the community.
We can accommodate your schedule within a 24 hour period. Tools will be provided either by homeowners or the City of Morgantown. There are also shovels available at the WVU Center for Service and Learning at Morgan House, 660 North High St. You may visit or call them 304-293-8761 to arrange pick-up and return.
It is imperative that you provide a working phone number under "notes" when you sign up and an email so that you can be contacted during a snow event. We will either text or email when there is a need. If you represent a student organization and are willing to help send out a call to members of your group that might be able to help on a given day, please contact Mike Stone at Code Enforcement: mstone@morgantownwv.gov (304) 284-7401
