The two campgrounds at Coopers Rock State Forest need a 'Spring Cleaning' of having all the downed branches and sticks that have accumulated during the off-season picked up and moved off of camping sites. McCollum Campground and Camp Rhododendron Campground are revenue generators for the State Forest and need to be ready for campers by April. A large crew can take care of this simple chore relatively quickly and without tools. We will collect all the downed branches throughout each campground and stack them by the firewood storage areas to be used as kindling for campfires.
Meet at McCollum Campground on the South Side of Coopers Rock, halfway between the I-68 Coopers Rock Exit and the Coopers Rock Overlook, on the left (obvious entrance sign).
If we finish McCollum Campground, we will then go to Camp Rhododendron Campground, closer to The Overlook.
