Approximately 16% of the people in Monongalia County are food insecure. Many of these individuals and families live 'on the edge' and rely on pantries and meal programs to 'make ends meet'.
The Mountaineer Food Bank brings fresh produce, frozen meat and non-perishable food (~15,000 lb) to distribute to ANYONE in Monongalia County who needs it once a month. The Pantry Plus More supports these events by setting up, distributing food and cleaning up.
We need 15 volunteers who can help setup, carry 40 - 50 lb of food for our clients and help clean up.
