Will you be in Morgantown on May 21st? If so, consider being part of our annual MedExpress GOTR of North Central WV 5K. We expect nearly 1300 participants and have a variety of volunteer opportunities on this day -- from set-up to clean-up and everything in between! You will be given a FREE celebratory 5K volunteer t-shirt, and a FREE catered lunch! This year's 5K is at the WVU Student Recreation Center.
Here are our 5K event day needs:
- SPARKLE RUNNER: This volunteer will be assigned to a team and helps coaches support girls along the course by running/walking alongside them. Bonus - you get to wear a pink cape!
- WATER STOP(S): These volunteers distribute cups of water to participants on the 5K course.
- REGISTRATION & PACKET PICK-UP (DAY OF 5K): Register 5K participants and distribute 5K bibs and shirts.
- 5K SET-UP: Join our dynamic mid-morning crew at the West Virginia University Student Recreation Center to help set up the 5K venue and Inspiration Village.
- INSPIRATION VILLAGE: Assist our GOTR girls in the Inspiration Village at the various stations including: Happy Hair, Bling Your Bib, Gratitude, Photo Booth, and with Cheer Signs.
- COURSE MONITOR: These volunteers direct participants to stay on course, and make sure that vehicles do not enter or exit parking lots on the 5K course, during the 5K event. These volunteers will be given traffic monitor vests before going to the assigned 5K course post.
- CLEAN-UP CREW: Help breakdown booths, clean up grounds, and return the venue to pre-event condition. Many hands make for light work! Thank-you for your help in returning the WVU Student Recreation Center to its pre-5K event condition.
- PRE-5K HELP: This option is for volunteers who are available to help prepare and plan for the 5k event on May 21, 2017. This option also includes packet pick-up at HealthWorks on Friday, May 19, 2017, from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.
- MERCHANDISE SALES: Process transactions, and help customers find the latest GOTR gear at the GOTR Merchandise Tent.
