Pantry Plus More (PPM): PPM is a nonprofit organization with the mission “to help eliminate hunger and other obstacles that inhibit the ability of students in Monongalia Co to achieve their educational goals”. To this end, PPM supports the students and their families with food, clothing, hygiene products and MORE.
Volunteers will help by:
On weekdays volunteers may help: pack ~200 boxes with nonperishable foods for monthly Food Distributions, inventory new items purchased by PPM or donated,

On 2 Saturdays/month, one Saturday will be an on-site PPM Food Distribution. Volunteers will organize PPM foods into 2 ‘sites’ in front of PPM, help direct client traffic, load the foods into clients’ vehicles and help with cleanup. The other Saturday will be a Mountaineer Food Bank (MFB) Distribution, open to all West Virginians, at different locations in Monongalia County. Volunteers will register clients, direct traffic, organize MFB foods, load foods into clients’ vehicles and help with clean up.
When working at PPM, be sure to register using the QR Code; a PPM Member will tell you how you can help. On weekdays volunteers can park in most areas in front of PPM. On Saturdays, volunteers must park in a lot across the street from PPM, but NOT in the Launch Pad (Trampoline Park) parking lot.
By helping with these events, volunteers provide an essential role in helping our food insecure neighbors of all ages receive much needed nutritional foods. Volunteers will also see how much this type of support is appreciated by those
At all of these events, volunteers should dress comfortably and weather-appropriately, including sun-protective clothing and/or using sun screen, when appropriate. Volunteers typically work hard together, sharing laughs in a friendly atmosphere.
These opportunities are especially relevant for those in social work or related interests and for those who want to help others in need.

Please dress comfortably, wear closed-toe shoes, and dress weather appropriately. Depending on the task you may be outside for all or a portion of time.
Winter Weather Concerns: Due to inclement weather, PPM may be closed some times. If closed, volunteers who are impacted will receive an email.
