Please note that while this is an opportunity to earn 2 hours of service, the service opportunity is part of a longer, 3.5 hour Well-Being Adventure Series offering. You will meet at the Outdoor Recreation Center, located within the Student Rec Center, and travel to the Core Arboretum together. Please read the description below! If you register for this volunteer need, you'll be contacted by Maddie Rhodes of Adventure WV who request some additional information from you and will formally register you for the offering through the WVU Go platform. All students must review and agree to Adventure WV's Essential Eligibility Criteria.
Description: Register for this offering and you'll get plenty of fresh air and some feel good vibes as you lend a hand at one of WVU's most beautiful locations - the Core Arboretum. The service work will be led by the Arboretum's Director and Biology Professor, Dr. Zach Fowler, who will provide instruction and share lots of fun facts about this special place. All equipment will be provided and students should take care to wear closed toed shoes, long pants, and clothes that can get dirty. Following service, enjoy a tasty dinner (the cost of dinner is covered for you!) and relax. Because this is a WBAS offering, you'll chat with others about well-being, and reflect on how this activity has you feeling.
