Reach Out and Read is a nonprofit organization that promotes early childhood literacy by integrating literacy into healthcare. Reading to younger children supports healthy cognitive and language development. Kappa Psi is working to collect donations for Reach Out & Read and collect books to donate to local pediatric clinics to give opportunities to local caregivers to read to their children.
The 5K is scheduled for April 25th, 2026 at the Student Recreation Center (2001 Rec Center Dr). Entry for the 5K is $5 or a donation of a children's book per participant. Please be at the Student Recreation Center by 9:30 AM for check-in as the walk/run will begin at 10 AM. This is not a chip-timed race.
Health professional students will be running kid-friendly activity tables at the finish line! Kappa Psi is planning on taking photos, so please indicate if you do not want to be included in the Photo Release Form/Consent.
