THE NATIONAL BLOOD SUPPLY IS VULNERABLE. PLEASE DONATE BLOOD TO PREVENT ANOTHER SHORTAGE!
Volunteer duties include:
- Checking blood donors in at the registration table.
- Monitoring the snack table and making sure blood donors are ok after they donate blood.
Volunteers can attend for as little or as many hours as their schedule allows.
Blood is needed now more than ever. If you are feeling well enough to donate blood, please also make an appointment and please do a rapid pass the day of the drive to make your experience quicker.
You can make an appointment to donate by going to https://www.redcrossblood.org/ and typing in the zip code.
ALL WVU STUDENTS RECEIVE TWO VOLUNTEER SERVICE HOURS FOR BLOOD DONATION IN ADDITION TO HOURS VOLUNTEERED.
BLOOD DRIVES ARE AN ESSENTIAL SERVICE. To ensure safety we are taking the following measures at every blood drive:
- Masks are no longer required at blood drives UNLESS the site hosting the drive requires them (hospitals, medical centers, etc)
- We are still doing our best to keep everyone waiting at a safe distance from each other.
- Our staff are wiping all of our equipment down with commercial-grade sanitizing wipes after every use.
- If a blood drive is fully booked with appointments, we might not be able to accept walk-ins. However, we encourage you to stop in and see.
