The Taylor County Adventure Club is a collaborative effort between Project HOP2E, All Aboard Grafton, Grafton-Taylor County Health Department, WV Community Development Hub, Try This WV, Taylor County Collaborative Family Resource Network, Planned Approach to Community Health, WVU Reed College of Media, WVU Extension, and the City of Grafton. These organizations have come together to bring fun-filled physical activity to citizens who reside in the Tygart River watershed communities.
The Adventure Club is located in Grafton West Virginia; a small town located in North Central West Virginia along the Tygart River. Grafton is only a thirty to forty-minute commute from well-known towns such as: Morgantown, Clarksburg, Fairmont, Bridgeport, Philippi, Kingwood and Elkins. So many things make Grafton special! We have: Tygart Lake State Park, Valley Falls State Park, the Tygart River, International Mother’s Day Shrine (and the birthplace of its founder Anna Jarvis), West Virginia’s only two National Cemeteries, the longest running Memorial Day Parade in the country, to name only a few…
Tourism is Grafton’s greatest asset. Adventure Club showcases the area’s beautiful natural resources. Our partners are eager to continue to bring new and fun activities to the area!
The Adventure Club offers ways for the community of Taylor County and Grafton to bring outdoor recreation to the communities of the Tygart Valley Watershed. Activities like rafting, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hunting, and bike riding engages these communities, promotes physical health, and provides an outlet for recreation!
Starting this spring we have several new and exciting adventures coming including the Tour of Taylor County Bike Race, The Lazy River on the Tygart, Adventures Off The Beaten Path for Jeep, ATV and Side by Sides, Adventures On The Green Golf Tournament, Hot Summer Nights Poker Run, The Great Taylor County Turkey Shoot and Air Riffle Competition and Adventure Fest.
