Who We Are
Rosenbaum Family House provides a place for adult patients and their families to stay while receiving medical care at WVU Medicine. We believe that healing involves not only great medical care but also the love and support of family and loved ones.
Rosenbaum Family House Founder, Hilda Rosenbaum’s vision for the house was to create a “home away from home” for families facing a medical crisis. The Rosenbaum Family House is devoted to making that possible by providing lodging and support services to adult outpatients and families of adult patients of WVU Medicine while they or their loved ones receive medical treatment. Family House offers programs designed to provide spiritual and emotional support. For many families facing a medical crisis, this is as important as having an affordable place to stay. Programs provided include meals, laundry facilities, a day room, and other services. In 2019, the Family House provided lodging for 1,441 families from the United States and beyond. Since opening in 1999, the Rosenbaum Family House has provided lodging for more than 21,000 families.
No one is turned away due to inability to pay.
What We Do
Family House is a home away from home for families of our patients and sometimes for patients themselves. We provide lodging, meals five nights a week and other support to WVU Medicine patients and their families. We are able to provide these services through the generosity of WVU Medicine and individual donors.
