Who We Are

We are a volunteer run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission: 'Promoting Community (ADA / ABA) Accessibility Improvements, Adaptive Recreation, Business Profitability, and Advocating for the Rights of People With Disabilities...' throughout the West Virginia Region and beyond!

What We Do

Our projects include 'Accessible Rivers, Parks, Forests, Trails, and Communities!' and 'HandiCraft Adaptive! Whitewater and Outdoor Recreation Our partners include the National Park Service – Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Community Assistance program (NPS-RTCA), WVU-CED, WVATS, Livability WV, HOH, WV Rivers Coalition, and many more... The ARPFTC project... Collects data identifying (ADA/ABA compliant) Accessible infrastructure and Adaptive opportunities (locations, facilities, programs, and features), assists People With Disabilities (PWDs) discover Accessible features within our communities, improves Quality of Life, builds more Accessible and Livable communities, and enables people of all ages to more easily recreate and enjoy outdoor spaces. ARPFTC brings earlier AOTG projects together to... Identify: Accessible Features (to be promoted) Readily Removable Barriers impeding Access (to be removed / improved) Future Opportunities (for building additional Adaptive opportunities and Accessible Infrastructure) Distribute: Accessibility Improvement Tool Kits, Technologies, and Training assisting volunteers and partners Inventory Accessible infrastructure and current Barriers to Access and to effectively advocate and provide free resources assisting future partners (businesses, government, orgs, etc.) to make Necessary Improvements Scale: Recruit and Train new Volunteers and Partners to grow the project to create positive change on a regional scale --- 'HandiCraft Adaptive!'
