Who We Are

The West Virginia University Extension Service (WVUES) is often regarded as the “front door” of the university, with master’s level educators in the 55 county Extension offices. Our mission is to build collaborations and partnerships with people and organizations throughout West Virginia, to improve their lives and communities. Drawing on the strengths of WVU’s academic disciplines, local educators target priority issues and at-risk populations. Exemplary WVUES programs focus on family and community development, agriculture and natural resources, and 4-H youth development. The state Extension office on the WVU campus provides curriculum, training, and resources to support county-based faculty and staff.
