Who We Are
The Evansdale Greenhouse is apart of West Virginia University's Experiment Station, which is comprised of many farms, forests, and specialized facilities throughout West Virginia. Our facility is comprised of two classroom spaces, a 13,080 square-foot modern greenhouse, a 600 square-foot propagation room, a 9,635 square-foot multi-bay quonset and a large open work area. Our quonset houses the Davis College Store, which hosts seasonal pop-up sales of student-made (or student-grown) products. We are essentially a living laboratory that exists to support WVU's land-grant mission by providing space for research, teaching and outreach initiatives.
What We Do
Outside of providing state-of-the-art controlled environment facilities for applied research, Evansdale Greenhouse is committed to facilitating opportunities for students to gain practical, hands-on experience. We are a community hub for education, career development, and collaboration. Although the bulk of our focus is within the Davis College and pertains to plant sciences, we often facilitate interdisciplinary projects and are excited to engage with students of any major.
