North Central WV Community Action (Preston Co.)

NCWVCAA helps individuals and families reach their highest levels of social and economic independence by providing a broad range of anti-poverty services and educational resources. North Central West Virginia Community Action Association, Inc. (NCWVCAA) has been a viable voice and supporter of the poor in West Virginia since its incorporation in August of 1966. This corporation is a non-profit organization with Internal Revenue Service 501(c) (3) certification and is governed by a Board of Directors. NCWVCAA is a multi-county corporation servicing Preston, Taylor, Monongalia, Marion, Greenbrier, Randolph, Barbour and Pocahontas counties. NCWVCAA is one of the largest of the sixteen Community Action Agencies in the state of West Virginia.

NCWVCAA continues to embody the spirit of The Economic Opportunity Acts, original mandate through collaboration with community entities and the creation of new and viable programs throughout the nine county areas. North Central offers homeless services, housing assistance, home-repair loans, employment assistance, free tax preparation, weatherization, affordable rental units, emergency services, Supportive Services for Veteran Families and Head Start in nine counties and Early Head Start in five counties. North Central's goal is to reduce the effects of poverty by empowering individuals, families, and communities to meet the challenges of today and the changes of tomorrow
