Who We Are
The Connecting Link, Inc.is dedicated to its mission to empower residents of Monongalia and Preston counties. Through meeting their immediate needs for emergency financial assistance and by linking clients with services, such as employment or training programs, budget counseling, and other appropriate services, the agency promotes the increasing self-sufficiency of clients.
Hence, rather than just serve as a filter for collected monies, the agency mission commands a higher goal – to enable citizens to improve the quality of daily life by facilitating their transition from crisis responding to problem solving for long-term sustenance. To fulfill this mission, the agency offers the following programs as part of the coordination of emergency financial assistance: comprehensive information and referral services, individualized social work budget counseling, and intake, assessment, and referral for case management placement for homeless individuals and families. We also provide mentoring services through our "Friends In The Journey" program for those individuals recently housed from homelessness, just released from incarceration, or aging out of foster care.
