The Middle Eastern Student Association (MESA) is a campus organization that brings together students who identify with or are interested in Middle Eastern culture. We aim to create a space for community, cultural appreciation, and connection by hosting events such as discussions, cultural nights, fundraising events, and potlucks. MESA focuses on fostering inclusion, promoting cultural awareness, and giving Middle Eastern students a sense of home on our WVU campus.
Along with building community, we are committed to spreading awareness about our countries, the challenges they have faced, and the misconceptions that often surround Middle Eastern culture. Through our events, we incorporate our traditions in ways that allow us to celebrate our culture while helping others learn. Our goal is to create a space where Middle Eastern students can have fun, feel represented, and share meaningful parts of our culture with the broader campus community.
