Who We Are
The Key Learning Autism Center (KLAC) is a placement site for WVU's undergraduates in psychology, education, social work, and multidisciplinary studies. KLAC also has site agreements for graduates in WVU's Special Education and School of Medicine for Occupational Therapy. Our center based services are for children ages two to eight with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis. Children receiving ABA therapy at KLAC may attend one to five days per week.
What We Do
The Key Learning Autism Center (KLAC) offers Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis. This therapy is the most effective evidence-based treatment for children diagnosed with autism. Therapy goals may include: communication, social skills, toilet training, feeding, daily living skills, academic curriculum, and challenging behavior reduction and replacement. Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBAs) work closely with families and technicians to develop individualized therapy plans with goals to best integrate children into school, and promote independence and communication in all environments.
