Office of Interprofessional Education

The West Virginia University Health Sciences Office of Interprofessional Education provides students with unique opportunities to work together through hands-on learning experiences with an interdisciplinary approach that teach them how to best serve their patients and communities.

Throughout their academic journey, undergraduate, graduate, medical and professional students – Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, and Social Work – engage in immersive, skills-based learning with others outside their discipline to prepare them to work as a collaborative practice team. Students also have the chance to work with peers across campus as interprofessional education opportunities have expanded beyond Health Sciences to include academic programs including social work, art therapy and journalism. The Office of IPE promotes interdisciplinary engagement through didactic, simulation, and community/clinical outreach.
