Pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding mothers as well as children up to their fifth birthday who qualify can take advantage of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), which provides nutrition and breastfeeding counseling and education; as well as health monitoring and nutritious foods.
WIC provides nutrition, breastfeeding support, health education and other services, free of charge, to pregnant women, mothers, infants and children up to the age of 5 who qualify. WIC teaches moms what to eat while pregnant or breastfeeding and what to feed their growing children. Services also include access to an app 24/7 that connects participants with breastfeeding support as well as free breastfeeding classes free to the public.
