Who We Are
In 2015, the then-named Office of Greek Life was established with the hiring of an inaugural Director. In 2017, the office was renamed to the "Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life."
In 2019, the professional, academic, service, special interest, and honorary fraternities, sororities, and student organizations were added under the oversight of the office. As a result, in 2020 the Office was once again renamed to the "Center for Fraternal Values and Leadership" to recognize the multitude of organizations that fall under its direction.
With vibrant traditions such as Homecoming Floats, Greek Week, and the Big Greek Day of Service, the fraternity and sorority community flourishes with a 130-year history that includes thousands of West Virginia University alumni.
What We Do
One of the most rewarding aspects of fraternity and sorority membership is the opportunity to impact the lives of those in the community. WVU Greek members participate in both hands-on volunteer work and philanthropic work, or raising money for a great cause. Chapters raise funds for national and/or local organizations or cause each year, and service projects are organized at a chapter, council, and community-wide level, allowing members to get to know the community in a new way, gain valuable experiences, and work together with other members of the Greek community.
