Falling Run Trail Construction: Fall 2018

Expired

Description

The Falling Run Greenspace will be an accessible, vibrant urban oasis with the potential to become a central park for the heart of Morgantown forging a connection between WVU's Organic Farm and Main Campus.  Ultimately, the long term vision is to provide an alternate connection to the Mileground area.

Working in small groups, volunteers will help to build hiking trails in this pristine greenspace close to WVU's downtown campus.  Tools and safety equipment will be provided.  Those items include the following:  shovels, rakes, mattocks, loppers, hard hats, and gloves. Wearing long pants and closed toed shoes/boots is required.  We ask that all volunteers bring their own water and eat before coming to the greenspace.  We also encourage all volunteers to wear WVU clothing!  Please join us to be part of creating the trails in the Falling Run Greenspace; which will be used for many generations to come!

If you decide not to participate in a shift, please unregister so others can register for the opportunity.

Inclement Weather Plan: We will still work in light rain; however, we will cancel if there is thunder/lightning due to being outside under trees. Each volunteer will receive an email at least one hour prior to the start of the shift if it is being cancelled. We encourage all volunteers to check their emails before heading out into the greenspace.
