Volunteers will assist with creating simple planting guides, assembling starter kits, labeling plants, and helping bring gardening memories and sensory joy to patients—no onsite visits or transportation required.

We are looking for compassionate volunteers to help us celebrate our hospice patients by making birthday phone calls. These short calls offer encouragement, kindness, and the reminder that someone is thinking of them on their special day.

What this role involves: Making brief, friendly birthday phone calls to hospice patients Offering warm wishes, conversation, and companionship Calls are typically short and can be made from your home Why it matters: Many of our patients have limited visitors or family nearby. Hearing a friendly voice on their birthday can bring comfort, joy, and a deep sense of connection.

Role Summary
We are seeking a creative and motivated Graphic Design/Social Media Volunteer to support our outreach efforts. This volunteer will help create visually engaging content that highlights our mission, celebrates our volunteers, and increases awareness of our programs within the community.

We are seeking volunteers with sewing skills to help create Memory Bears—special keepsake items made from a piece of clothing that belonged to a hospice patient. All patterns, supplies, and materials will be provided. These bears bring comfort to families by preserving a tangible connection to their loved one.
If you enjoy sewing and would like to use your talents to make a meaningful difference, we would love to have you join us in this heartfelt project.

In need of volunteers to make weekly phone calls to 15-20 patients. Calls will be a midweek courtesy to see if they need any supplies ordered prior to the weekend. Opportunity is remote and allows for a flexible schedule.  Great way to gain interaction with patients and families remotely. 

Seeking volunteers able to help homebound hospice patients with light yard work and lawn mowing services. Flexible Schedule.

Seeking volunteers able to assist hospice patients with outdoor yard help and lawn mowing in the evenings or weekends.  Flexible schedule. 

We are in need of volunteers that are willing to visit with hospice patients residing in local nursing home facilities.  Volunteer visits would provide companionship and socialization to the patients.  Volunteers are welcome to assist with group activities within the facility as well.  Schedule can be flexible and no set hours required.

Seeking a volunteer that is willing to travel to Preston County and provide companionship to our patients and families in the neighboring county.  Schedule is very flexible.  Any availability to go would be appreciated, could be once a month or once a week.  Kingwood, Wv is approximately 17 miles from Morgantown.

Seeking Veteran Volunteers or Active Duty Looking to support fellow Veterans that are on hospice.  

Looking for a volunteer that is willing to come to the office the first of every month to address and mail birthday cards to hospice patients. Application, background check, and TB Test are required.

Seeking volunteers interested in interviewing hospice patients about their lives and writing a brief summary of the interview with an accompanying poster.  Poster to include write up and pictures, clipart, etc. from interview. Can be done remotely and on own schedule.

Seeking a volunteer to make Welcome phone calls to newly admitted hospice patients and families.  The call will be a scripted brief check in a few days after admission to make sure they have the local office contact information and see if they need anything at this time.

Looking for volunteers interested in making once a week companionship calls to hospice patients and families.  Calls provide socialization while ensuring families have all their needs met prior to the weekend.  Volunteers will make 12-15 calls per week.
