Volunteer: 2026 Spring into Action

UWMPC LifeBridge AmeriCorps members are hosting Spring into Action 2026 at the Helpful Harvest Food Program warehouse and are seeking community volunteers to support hands-on service. This project focuses on reorganizing warehouse spaces and implementing more efficient systems to strengthen daily operations and increase Helpful Harvest’s capacity to serve food pantries across Monongalia and Preston counties.

Volunteers will work alongside staff and AmeriCorps members in designated crews to complete tasks such as organizing items onto pallets, cleaning and relocating shelving, clearing and preparing open spaces, cleaning floors, and organizing food in storage and walk-in areas. This is a physically active volunteer opportunity that plays a direct role in improving workflow, safety, and efficiency within the warehouse, resulting in long-term benefits for local food distribution efforts.

This Day of Action is a chance to work together, contribute in a meaningful way, and see the direct results of your time and effort. Whether you come as part of a group or on your own, your support will strengthen a system that supports vital local food pantries and helps to support their mission of serving families across our community.
