Want to learn about golf as you help children build the skills for a successful life?  Golfer or not, this the opportunity to do just that.

Nationwide, we currently have more than 3,900 coaches signed up with First Tee, including PGA and LPGA pros, as well as volunteers. But you don’t have to be a golf pro or even a good golfer. With the First Tee Coach Program, we provide the training you need.

Developed with input from leading experts in the field of positive youth development, our program focuses on empowering participants through decision-making and exploring options. This helps foster positive relationships between coaches and young people, inspiring the golfers of tomorrow to look to the future, set goals, and unlock their potential.  Please call Brenda at 304-657-6360 for other opportunities and details.  Willing to find something for anyone to help out!

The WV Women's Expo will be held on Friday, March 20, and Saturday, March 21, at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center.

The Student Government Association is hosting a community service clean-up event on March 27th from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm with the Raleigh County Make it Shine committee from the Chambers of Commerce.

Are you an EXPH student? 

Looking for EXPH students to assist with a Dining with Diabetes class being offered by WVU Extension. There are four upcoming classes, and you may choose to assist with one or more. Your role will be to lead participants through about 20 minutes of gentle exercise. Most participants in this program are older and lead sedentary lifestyles. They are interested in things like chair yoga and Tai Chi. Volunteers will be reimbursed for travel time.

Graduate students are needed to serve as judges at the 2026 Spring Research Symposium scheduled to take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Mountainlair. Graduate students in all disciplines are welcome to volunteer. Sign up for volunteer hours using iServe and then register to be a judge at the symposium here.

Volunteers help keep the WVU Core Arboretum beautiful, and you can be a part of the crew each Friday from 4-7 pm! Volunteers will work on trails, do invasive species removal, clean drainage channels, maintain lawn areas, etc. The program is open to all. It is hard work, but good exercise, and it is much appreciated by the Arboretum’s many users. There is a limit on the number of volunteers that we can accommodate each day, but the program will be ongoing. Interested volunteers should register here, and email Zach Fowler (zfowler@mail.wvu.edu) if you have any questions. Volunteers will meet near the Arboretum parking lot. Volunteers should wear closed toe shoes, long pants, and clothes that are okay to get dirty. The event will be cancelled if the weather is dangerous. 

Kick off the Spring trail season on Saturday, April 25 by joining the Mon River Trails Conservancy in celebrating our local Mon River Rail-Trails in Morgantown’s Wharf District (rail-trail mile 10). Enjoy shopping for hand-crafted jewelry, paintings, prints, wood art, and other local artisan products between 12PM-5PM in the Wharf District of Morgantown. Vendors will be located along the rail-trail and 10% of artisan sales will benefit the local rail-trails. In addition to art vendors, there will be live music, crafting tables for all ages, a face painting station, free rental of bikes and kayaks from Morgantown Area Outfitters, food vendors, and more. MRTC will lead a 2-mile walk on the rail-trail at 2pm, meet-up at MRTC tent next to Table 9 restaurant.

Volunteers are needed with set up of tables, tents, and supplies, directing and helping art and food vendors find their locations, and take down at end of day. Other opportunities to help include volunteering at craft tables or taking photos of the event for MRTC social media. Set up starts at 9AM and take down will start at 5PM and typically ends at 5:30PM.

The Handmade Market is a Main Street Morgantown Affiliate event. This event is hosted by MRTC with funding support from the Monongalia County Commission, City of Morgantown, Douglas H. Tanner Memorial Fund for the Arts, Your Community Foundation of North Central West Virginia, Inc., and Arts Monongahela – Arts Council of Greater Morgantown

By joining the NMDP donor registry, you could help save the life of someone with blood cancer. Matching donors must be very specific—similar to organ donation—but the process to join the registry is simple, and donation is simple and painless like giving a blood donation.

Join RAP 1 courses to engage in a broad discussion about your research as an undergrad! 

Prisoner Visitation and Support (PVS) is a volunteer visitation program for people incarcerated in federal and military prisons throughout the United States.

Our mission is to provide prisoners with regular, face to face contact from the world outside of prison to help them cope with prison life, encourage personal growth, and prepare for successful reentry into society.

Visits take place once a month and PVS visitors let the prisoners set the agenda for what they discuss. Common concerns are: lack of contact with family, untreated medical problems, work or educational plans upon release, current events, literature, etc.

This listing is for volunteers that are interested in visiting at FCI Beckley, a medium security federal prison for men in Beaver, West Virginia.

Come watch the game and help keep concourse clean during the game then help pick the stands afterwards. 

This volunteer need is for people to log hours from Red Cross service club when they volunteer at Sundale Nursing Home for bingo. 

This is an inaugural event with Campus Recreation where we are doing another fun run and kid's event in the spring semester at the Student Recreation Center. This event will take place on Saturday, April 18th starting at 9am with the kid's obstacle course and then followed by the 5k fun run at 9:30am. We are seeking volunteers to help with check-in, recording race times, and helping cheer participants on throughout the racecourse.

The Walk Planning Committee is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and executing all aspects of the walk event to ensure a safe, engaging, and successful experience for participants. Committee members work collaboratively to plan logistics, develop a clear route, secure permits, coordinate volunteers, manage communications, and support event‑day operations.

This committee serves as the central planning team, bringing together individuals with diverse skills to oversee tasks such as route design, safety planning, marketing, fundraising (if applicable), participant engagement, and vendor relations. Members contribute ideas, attend planning meetings, and help ensure that the walk reflects the mission, goals, and values of the hosting organization.

What You’ll Do

This free gallery crawl brings local businesses and artists in Downtown Morgantown together to showcase our vibrant arts community. WVU Core Arboretum is having our annual Spring Flower Festival on Saturday, April 18, from 2-6 pm! This family-friendly, free event is open to everyone and will showcase the beautiful spring ephemeral wildflower display that happens every year in the Arboretum. We will have wildflower tours, live music, lawn games, nature activities for kids, food, and lots of information about other Arboretum programming. 

Volunteers for this need will meet at the Arboretum kiosk near the parking lot and help with cleanup after the festival on the evening of Saturday, April 18, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and clothes that they do not mind getting dirty. We will be working outside, so please dress for the weather. Thank you!

Ways to Get Involved

Volunteers assist in all areas at Health Right. Caring and qualified people work with patient charts, fill out applications for free medications, do clerical tasks, and help patients fill out applications and surveys.

Volunteers participate in various group projects from painting the clinic, offices and waiting rooms; to doing major indoor and outdoor cleanup work; to assisting in fund raising programs.

-Stocking harm reduction room, assembling kits, copying forms. Behind the scenes work for LIGHT Project.

Clinic Volunteer Hours 

-A variety of health care related tasks to be completed at the Front Desk and in the Clinic area.

Friendship House/Friendship Fairmont Volunteer Hours- Wellness in Recovery

-Assist with person centered recovery groups and activities.

Dress is casual but must be neat and clean.

• Please no midriff tops, no t-shirts with drug or alcohol references and no tank tops or spaghetti strap outfits
• We ask that you avoid strong perfume and cigarette odor since some patients and staff could be sensitive to strong smells.

• Tattoos and Piercings will be allowed based on Executive/Assistant Director discretion.

If you do not arrive for your shifts, or cancel multiple shifts without notice, you will be removed from the Active Volunteer list for the remainder of that semester. 

You may be turned away from your desired shift if you have not:

- responded to the need in iServe with at least 24-hour notice (WVU Students Only)
- claim your shifts at the SignUp Genius links with at least 24-hour notice
- received an email confirmation with your hours and who to report to at the clinic

Help with whatever project or goal is set for the day: hanging & sorting clothing, data entry, bagging bread/produce, getting special needs, cleaning, front desk registration, food pantry, career closets, etc. 

Hours of Operation: Monday through Thursday, 9 am-4 pm; Friday, 9 am-2 pm. Hours are flexible as needed/classes dictate.

Volunteer for ROTC associated service learning opportunities. Cadet can submit for volunteer hours for the following activities - color guard missions, stadium clean-up, career fair support and other activities outside of the normal ROTC requirements. This pertains to blood drive donors and volunteers.

The Peak Health Aquatic Center is hosting the Pennsylvania YMCA's culminating track competition March 20-22.  With over 1000 participants from all over the state of Pennsylvania this is one of the facility's largest event each year.  Volunteers will provide a number of tasks from set up to tear down and clean up and helping with Parking cars. 

This volunteer position would be helping to develop the overall board and oversight of a new, grassroots initiative called the Northstar Nature Club. Our goal would be to engage and empower individuals to appreciate, protect, and enjoy the natural environment.

The position of the Chief Engineering Officer of the board would maintain the Club’s equipment and gear and provide technical advice for Club initiatives.

This volunteer position would be helping to develop the overall board and oversight of a new, grassroots initiative called the Northstar Nature Club. Our goal would be to engage and empower individuals to appreciate, protect, and enjoy the natural environment.

The position of the Chief Tactical Officer of the board would assist in the planning and safe execution of outdoor and field activities. They would ensure safety and preparedness for all legal and security aspects of Club events and members.

This volunteer position would be helping to develop the overall board and oversight of a new, grassroots initiative called the Northstar Nature Club. Our goal would be to engage and empower individuals to appreciate, protect, and enjoy the natural environment.

The position of the Chief Communication Officer of the board would oversee all Club communications, including newsletters, social media, and public relations efforts. Ensures timely and accurate dissemination of information to members and the public.

This volunteer position would be helping to develop the overall board and oversight of a new, grassroots initiative called the Northstar Nature Club. Our goal would be to engage and empower individuals to appreciate, protect, and enjoy the natural environment.

The position of the Secretary of the board would record and preserve the official minutes of all meetings. They would also maintains Club records, membership rosters, and manage official correspondence.

This volunteer position would be helping to develop the overall board and oversight of a new, grassroots initiative called the Northstar Nature Club. Our goal would be to engage and empower individuals to appreciate, protect, and enjoy the natural environment.

The position of the Treasurer of the board would manage all financial affairs of the Club, including preparing budgets, maintaining financial records, and issuing financial reports. They would also collects dues and donations and disburses funds with Executive Board approval.

This volunteer position would be helping to develop the overall board and oversight of a new, grassroots initiative called the Northstar Nature Club. Our goal would be to engage and empower individuals to appreciate, protect, and enjoy the natural environment.

The position of the Chief Science Officer of the board would oversee scientific education and research initiatives within the Club. They would also coordinate citizen science projects and ensures scientific integrity in outreach efforts.

It’s time for our annual Pop-Up Used Bookstore Fundraiser! Our sale will take place in April, and that means we need help getting thousands of donated books ready.

We are looking for volunteers to help unload from cars, move, and sort books by genre at our pop-up store in the Morgantown Mall (one with movie theater, our store is across from Dunham’s store). This is a hands-on opportunity to support adult literacy while earning volunteer hours and helping with a fun community event.

The back door to the store is near parking lot #24 and is located behind the barriers that block the view of the dumpsters. If you get lost, you can call 724-491-2007 and Jen Musho/ Dr. Alan Collins will help guide you. Feel free to bring headphones, gloves (it gets dusty), and a waterbottle! You do not have to stay for the whole shift.

Camp Kesem Donation Drive
Camp Kesem is a free summer camp that supports children affected by a parent’s cancer. They are currently in need of full-size toothbrushes and toothpaste (regular or children's), and your donations can make a meaningful impact.

How service hours work:

Donate 2 full-size items = 1 hour of service

Welcome WVU students and faculty!  We need your help!  Animal Friends is a 501(c)(3) non profit with a mission to save animals from euthanasia.  We operate a thrift shoppe in Morgantown that funds the operation of our no kill shelter.  Items are donated from the community and processed for sale in our shoppe.  As you can imagine, this takes a lot of work!  We are accepting volunteers on Tuesday 11-5, Thursday and Friday 11-3 and Saturday 10-3.  Your help would be so appreciated.   Help is needed to sort and clean donations, tag clothes, assist cashiers, arranging displays and pricing and a variety of other jobs.  See you at the shoppe?

Join us on March, 28th 2026 as a volunteer for our annual Easter Egg hunt here at Camp Muffly Park. Volunteers will be needed from 10:00am to approximately 5pm. This is a free public event for kids. We will have crafts and games as well as pictures with the Easter Bunny beginning at 11am, with the egg hunt starting at 1:00pm. There will be egg hunts broken up for different age groups. Volunteers will be spreading eggs out as we get an approximation of how many kids we will have per age group. 

Volunteers will be needed to help guests to their correct egg hunt areas. As well as assisting with crafts, games, and set up and take down. Please wear appropriate clothing for a family friendly event that will take place primarily outdoors. Clean-up may include packing away eggs, games, and promotional equipment and storing  them away. Please be prepared to lift items weighing up to 30 pounds while working together. Volunteers will also be asked to help with facility clean up. Duties may include wiping down surfaces, storing away tables and chairs, sweeping, moping, etc...

We also need one enthusiastic and energetic volunteer to wear the Easter Bunny Suit for photos. If you would like to reserve this role, please email Taylor Helms, Recreation Manager at thelms@monongaliacounty.gov as soon as possible. 

Volunteers will NOT be permitted to hunt for Easter Eggs.

1. Demographic survey: designed to collect demographic information such as age, gender, race/ethnicity, occupation, etc. 

2. Pre-program Survey (Pre-test): designed to evaluate your knowledge of opioids, naloxone, and the relationship between these two drugs. We are also interested in assessing what you may already know about the different forms of naloxone that are approved here in the state of West Virginia. This test consists of twenty questions and should take around 5-10 minutes to complete. 

3. Naloxone Training: consisting of three (3) video modules describing how to use the three of types of naloxone approved in West Virginia. All three video trainings will equip you with important information relating to naloxone and how to use this drug to save a life.  The learning objectives for this training include:

Once a month we have a shipment delivery totaling in the 10's of thousands of pounds we need strong backs to come help us unload these trucks and bring them into the food pantry, and then get the imtes organized properly. 

This free, 1.5-hour, online training helps first responders assist individuals with mental illness or substance use disorder who are in crisis using safe, positive approaches.

The New Horizons Band at OLLI provides older adult learners with opportunities to make music, strengthen skills, and enjoy the social and cognitive benefits of ensemble participation. OLLI is seeking a volunteer Band Leader who will guide rehearsals, support musicians with varying backgrounds, and cultivate a welcoming, encouraging musical community.

Get Moving! is hosting their first annual Kids Fun Run, which will take place directly following the start of the Stepping Into Spring 5k at Milan Puskar Stadium. Children from across West Virginia gather with local athletes and special guests to promote healthy lifestyles and participate in a Day of Play. This activity camp allows children ages 4-12 to participate in an activity camp with 10 stations of various physical activity drills.

Get Moving! Inc. is producing its first annual 5k! Happening on March 21, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Registration at 8:00 am. We are looking for volunteers to help on the day of! The library is seeking a Spanish teacher to teach adults beginner Spanish. This would be a monthly recurring program in the evenings. We are willing to schedule this class around your schedule. 

Reach Out and Read is a nonprofit organization that promotes early childhood literacy by integrating literacy into healthcare. Reading to younger children supports healthy cognitive and language development. Kappa Psi is working to collect donations for Reach Out & Read and collect books to donate to local pediatric clinics to give opportunities to local caregivers to read to their children.

The 5K is scheduled for April 25th, 2026 at the Student Recreation Center (2001 Rec Center Dr). Entry for the 5K is $5 or a donation of a children's book per participant. Please be at the Student Recreation Center by 9:30 AM for check-in as the walk/run will begin at 10 AM. This is not a chip-timed race.

Health professional students will be running kid-friendly activity tables at the finish line! Kappa Psi is planning on taking photos, so please indicate if you do not want to be included in the Photo Release Form/Consent.

These dinners are typically held in small towns and communities, often as fundraising events or social gatherings. Our ramps are even harvested from right here in our own park!

Because ramps are only available for a short time each year, ramp dinners are a highly anticipated spring tradition in many Appalachian communities! Which is why it is so popular. We look forward to serving guests from far and wide. This is one of the easiest and fun volunteering opportunities around! 

Mural has been projected and traced onto the walls in "The Neighborhood" children's and youth space.  Artistic volunteers are needed to paint the mural's animals.  

Downtown Trick-or-Treat Volunteer

Help make Downtown Trick-or-Treat a fun and safe experience for families and kids! Volunteers are needed to support event operations and keep the festivities running smoothly.

A one-hour training is required for new volunteers. Training is offered in the Aull Center at 351 Spruce Street—adjacent to the downtown Morgantown Public Library. Advance registration is required. Follow this link to sign up for a training session. * Please use your Mix email when registering.

The training will detail how you can get involved with APBP. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, and a Volunteer Trainer will answer any questions you have. You may volunteer independently during the Aull Center’s hours of operation once you have completed training.
