Description

Partner with members of the Village at Heritage Point senior resident community for a cross-generational letter writing event on January 29, 2019!

Volunteers are needed to respond to letters from the senior residents of the Village at Heritage Point. The residents wrote letters on Martin Luther King Jr. Day describing their lives in Morgantown. As volunteers, you would have the chance to read a fascinating letter during our letter-writing session, and then respond by sharing your own history.

The event will be held at WVU's Downtown Campus Library in Room 2048, from 2 pm-4:30 pm. Volunteers can come in whenever they choose during that time frame, and do not have to stay the entire time; volunteers will receive a quarter hour for each quarter hour they stay to help and write letters. No experience necessary; volunteers will be given simple instructions on site.

Volunteers will be logged in the iServe system and an AmeriCorps volunteer spreadsheet.

This program is a joint collaboration between the Village at Heritage Point and two members of Preserve WV AmeriCorps. Register on iServe. Contact alanna.natanson@mail.wvu.edu with any questions.
