Activity Details:
Winter Gear and Hygiene Kit Packaging
- The WVU community has been collecting donations of winter gear and hygiene items for the past three weeks. During Night Serve, volunteers will assemble kits with these items which will later be donated to clients of The Friendship House.
Documentary Screenings
- While volunteers are serving, we will screen two documentaries on the topics of hunger and homelessness in America. Volunteers will have an opportunity to reflect on these documentaries through group discussion.
Fleece Scarf Making
- Volunteers will make fleece scarves which will then be given to people experiencing homelessness in Morgantown. No sewing skills needed!
Art Show
- Artwork created by local artists who have or are currently experiencing homelessness and/or poverty will be on display. Attendees may purchase artwork from the artists if desired (cash only). No pre-registration necessary to attend the art show - invite your friends!
This week's Night Serve event will take place in the Gold Ballroom on the 2nd floor of the WVU Mountainlair.
Volunteers and other attendees are also welcome to enjoy Friday Night Snacks in the Mountainlair Commons area between 10 PM and midnight.
