Description

PCWA is hosting a "Stream Stomp" on September 14 from 10:00-2:00 and we need help!  What is a "Stream Stomp"?  it is an event to educate the community about watersheds specifically and environmental issues generally.

We are looking for 10-15 volunteers to help us set up and tear down at the event as well as to help run some kids activities during the event.  We will resource the activities and train volunteers on how to run them.  There are also opportunities to run your own activities if you would like.

Specific Activities

     1. Trouting About: This is a game were kids simulate being a trout moving through a stream.  Kids roll a dice and go to the station as designated.  Volunteers will help kids understand what to do at each station and discuss what the activity represents.

     2. Incredible journey: In this game kids simulate being a drop of water as it moves through the environment.  As kids move through each station, they pick up beads representing that location of water (clouds, ocean, river, etc.).  At the end the kid has created a bracelet which tells their unique, individual story.

     3. Assisting other stations: we will have representatives from various organizations that will need help running their booth.

     4. Setting up and tearing down: assisting PCWA and our partners in putting up shelters and tables as well as helping people load up equipment at the end of the event.
