Help keep our national parks beautiful by joining in a volunteer work day at Bluestone National Scenic River! Meet at the Pipestem State Park tram on Saturday, August 18 at 10:00 am. We'll be riding the tram together, then hiking and/ or floating the Bluestone River to pick up trash and do light trail work.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the National Trails System and National Wild & Scenic Rivers Systems in 2018, the National Park Foundation has awarded a grant to the National Parks of Southern West Virginia in support of the Love Your Park initiative. This initiative helps to foster a better sense of ownership and stewardship of our parks through service. The National Park Service, along with the Friends of New River Gorge National River are planning three work days to help improve the Bluestone Turnpike Trail, a scenic and historic walking path that runs the entire 10 mile length of Bluestone National Scenic River.
Join local communities across the country to help protect and preserve these treasured resources. Have fun with your family, friends, and community while you give back! Together, we can keep our rivers and trails beautiful and vibrant for current and future generations.
Come and “Love Your Park” by joining us for one of three work days to help pick up trash and work on trail improvement projects.
