The following email is being sent on behalf of Dr. Chris McClain, Assistant Professor of Mathematics
Dear students,
On Saturday, March 4, WVU Tech will simultaneously host two Regional Math Field Day events that provide a significant service opportunity for both faculty and students:
These events comprise a labor-intensive affair, spanning the available classrooms in Innovation and Life Sciences buildings. Volunteers are welcome and greatly needed. Duties from 8:30 until 2:30 may include proctoring exam activities (proctoring directions provided), scoring grades 4-9 (keys provided), and running materials between exam rooms and the scoring room. In particular, we need as many volunteers as possible who have completed WVU's Children On Campus training, which you can request here: https://diversity.wvu.edu/equity-assurance/children-on-campus/training.
Anyone who would like to volunteer on Saturday, March 4 has my immediate gratitude and may contact me at christopher.mcclain@mail.wvu.edu. Please disclose any potential conflicts of interest (e.g. a sibling in the competition) so that you may be assigned duties that avoid the conflict. Volunteers will receive a certificate that may be used as evidence of service.
