The West Virginia Land Trust will be planting Red oak, White oak, and White pine at our 325 acre nature preserve just south of Morgantown on April 9th, 2023 from 10am to 2pm at the Toms Run Preserve. We will meet at the parking lot at 9:45am.

All tools and training will be provided, but it is very important that volunteers dress appropriately for the work. Long, loose pants such as blue jeans (no yoga pants) and boots are required. Hiking books are fine - it is not necessary to have work boots, but no running shoes, gym shoes, or other 'sneakers' are allowed - we will be working on uneven surfaces that can be slippery when wet. Please do not show up in any kid of gym shoes, or in shorts or yoga pants. Gloves will be provided.
Please bring lunch and plenty of water. Other items to consider are rain gear, sunscreen, sunglasses, and anything else that you will need for four hours in the forest given the weather. Field guides for wildflowers, birds, trees are encouraged if biological diversity and ecological sustainability are personal interests. Cell service is generally available but should not be counted on.
Directions from Morgantown:
On I-79 south, take the Goshen Road exit, turn right off the exit onto Goshen Road, left on Smithtown Road, and an immediate right on Little Falls Road. Take Little Falls Road 0.4 miles and look for the Toms Run Preserve sign on your right.
