Description

We are seeking compassionate volunteers to visit hospice patients residing in local nursing homes and long-term care facilities. Many patients have limited visitors and look forward to the companionship, conversation, and support that volunteers provide. Volunteers may spend time talking with patients, listening to their stories, reading aloud, playing games, sharing music, participating in activities, or simply offering a comforting presence. Sometimes, the greatest gift you can give is your time and willingness to sit with someone who needs companionship. This opportunity offers a flexible schedule with weekday, evening, and weekend visitation opportunities available. Volunteers can work with hospice staff to create a visitation schedule that fits their availability and comfort level. No medical care is provided by volunteers, and no prior experience is required. Comprehensive training and ongoing support are provided by hospice staff to help volunteers feel confident and prepared in their role. Volunteer Responsibilities: Visit hospice patients in nursing home facilities Provide companionship and social interaction Engage patients in conversation and activities Offer emotional support and a caring presence Report any concerns to hospice staff Why Volunteer? Make a meaningful difference in a patient's life Reduce loneliness and isolation for hospice patients Build rewarding relationships through compassionate service Enjoy a flexible schedule, including weekend opportunities Share the gift of your time with those who need it most A friendly visit can brighten a patient's day and provide comfort during a challenging time. Join our hospice volunteer team and help bring companionship, connection, and joy to patients in our local nursing home communities.
