Meeting Place is Raven Rock Parking Lot, the next one past McCollum Campground, and which has new road construction across the street, with orange safety barrels.
From the parking lot, walk behind the parking lot onto Roadside Trail, walk left, walk through a field and back into the forest, and then find the start of the reroute on the right. 600’ from parking lot to start of reroute.
The project is a drop-in open house, work as little or as much as you can, 8 hours or 1 hour.
The objective is to open up a trail reroute which moves a segment of Roadside Trail out of a field and into the forest. The work involves moving logs and sticks and cutting branches and vines and greenbrier, and fighting through a lot of vegetation until we have cut a 500’ reroute 8’ wide.
Long pants and sleeves and adequate footwear are strongly recommended.
