Who We Are

We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting adult survivors and children exposed to violence. Our mission is to create pathways of hope and healing by providing trauma-informed support through soft interview rooms, training, camps, and year-round mentoring. Alliance for Hope Appalachia Inc. (AHA) was established in 2024 by a multidisciplinary team of professionals who share the vision for a healthier West Virginia free of child abuse, domestic, and sexual violence.

What We Do

Our organization has two focus areas.

1. Our efforts to mitigate the impact of trauma for adult survivors center around soft interview rooms and trauma-informed interview training for law enforcement. Soft interview rooms are located in law enforcement, or justice centers, designed as comfortable spaces that allow survivors of violence to feel physically and emotionaly safe.

2. AHA is honored to be an official affiliate program of Camp HOPE America, the leading year-round mentoring and camping program in the country for children and teens impacted by family violence. The mentoring program called Pathways, builds collective hope and fosters relationships between youth, families, and the community.
