WVU wants to highlight the service that our alumni are completing as individuals and with their chapters.
Hours that alumni complete are part of WVU's #MillionHrMatch initiative to complete a million hours of service by 2018.
The Alumni Association and the Center for Service and Learning encourage all alumni chapters and their members to promote WVU's mission around the world by competing in a fun, friendly challenge to complete volunteer service activities. After all, that is who we are as Mountaineers.
To ensure hours are recognized and counted for your respective chapter follow the steps below. There is a separate volunteer "Need" for each alumni chapter.
Scroll down to find your chapter and then click View Details.
Click the blue Respond button in the right corner. If you do not have an account, you will need to create an account during this step.
Complete your volunteer profile!
Once you've completed your profile and logged in, you will be returned to the need response form, click Submit Need Response. You should see a green banner confirming that you are registered.
After completing service, track your hours! The track hours form is located in your volunteer profile.
View Your Profile by clicking your photo or initials in the top right corner of the site, and then select the Track Hours tab.
Track your hours episodically. (e.g., as they are completed.)
You may also track hours retroactively.
When tracking your hours, select the volunteer need for your chapter. Include a brief summary of the service performed in the description box.
The WVU Alumni Association will approve all service hours.
